What Time Will We Start On The Day Of My Wedding?
Your start time is determined by your party size and what time your photographer arrives. 1.5 hours for the bride, 1 hour per each additional person receiving services and 45 minutes to 1 hour for touchups based on party size. For large parties requiring an additional stylist this timing is cut in half. We arrive onsite 15-30 min before your start time to set up depending on the venue.
For example with a 4pm ceremony time the photographer would typically arrive around 1 PM. With this in mind a bridal party of 5 I would arrive on site at 6:00 AM, set up at 6:15 AM and services would begin at 6:30 AM. The bride would be seated at 7:30 AM finishing around 9:00 AM. This will allow for the bride to not be rushed to be seated for makeup services and finished with makeup services in time to be seated for final touchups beginning at 12 PM. Your bridal party would be complete at 1 pm and ready to begin photos.
"Getting ready" photos are staged while we are packing our tools.
This timing is not flexible and will be required to book with us!
I Have A Large Wedding Party, Can You Accommodate This?
- Absolutely. We can accommodate up to 12 people. For parties of 8 or more an additional stylist is required. An additional stylist requires a fee starting at $100 based on location and travel time. This fee is non refundable and will reserve the stylists time and cover travel day of.
- There will be an additional cost to meet the $1000 service minimum if your venue does not allow for your bridal party of 7 or less to be completed in the time given and an additional stylist is needed. An additional stylist is only guaranteed if added before your contract is signed and invoice payment received.
How Should I Prep My Hair Before Services?
Clean (within 24 hours) blow-dried straight hair is required for any person receiving services. Longer than 24 hours your hair will have too much natural oil for todays light textured styles. Air dried hair will leave the style limp and more susceptible to frizz. The old saying of "dirty hair is best" is outdated. There are many, many professional products to add texture to give you long lasting curl and volume. If these prep requirements are not met we cannot guarantee desired outcome and bridal party finishing on time.
When To Schedule Your Bridal Hair Trial
A bridal trial should be scheduled at least two months before your wedding. However, you should not schedule your trial until after you have purchased your veil or other hair accessories.
Trial availability is Tuesday-Thursday. Trials are performed at SLĒK Salon 1801 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203

Do I Need A Trial?
A trial is recommended but not required. A trial gives us an opportunity to work with your hair type and color before your wedding day to ensure you pick the perfect style for you. You will also have the time to make any color adjustments or purchase extensions to have your dream bridal hair on your big day!
Do I Really Need Extensions?
Extensions are crucial if you want to achieve full, voluminous long lasting results on down or half up half down styles. Even when working with naturally long hair they are recommended. When you pin half of your hair up, the hair left down is the part of the head where hair is not as dense. When curled hair will lose 3-5 inches in length.
For Hollywood Glam Waves Extensions are required.
When Is Payment Due?
A %50 retainer fee of your final total will be due at booking and is non refundable. The remaining %50 balance will be collected 2 weeks prior to your event.
Do You Provide Makeup?
No, however I work often with two different makeup artist and recommend them 100%. Yeliza Garcia (@yg_beautyxo) and Erin Holcomb (@makeupbyerinh). While they are separate vendors from myself we coordinate behind the scenes to make sure your glam schedule is executed flawlessly.
